Our Service

We offer professional, personalized housekeeping services to residents of San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Alameda Counties. Our housekeepers are trained and experienced in efficient and high-quality housecleaning. PILAS housekeepers receive on-going training and professional development and are frequently evaluated by trainers and clients to ensure that their work is of the highest quality.

ESTIMATE: We will make a preliminary estimate over the phone, based on the size of your home and your individual housekeeping needs. If you prefer, we can also visit your home to introduce ourselves and provide an estimate. We are happy to cater to any special requests such as laundry, ironing, polishing silver, window washing, etc.

COST AND PAYMENT OF SERVICES: We individualize our cleaning to you and your home. The price to clean your home is based on many factors, such as the size of your home, whether you have pets, and requests for extra services. You will negotiate the price with the PILAS Coordinator. You will pay your cleaner directly with a check or cash at the time of service. All of our members are independent contractors and understand that they are responsible for their own Social Security and other withholding payments.

SCHEDULING: Our housekeeping services are available weekly, every-other week, monthly, or one-time. We are happy to work around your schedule.

CLEANING SUPPLIES: You know best which cleaning products you want used in your home, and so we ask you to provide your housecleaner with the necessary cleaning supplies. PILAS housekeepers do not bring cleaning supplies with them. To view recommended supplies, click here.

EVALUATION: Your housekeeper will leave with you an evaluation form that will help us to ensure that our service is of the highest quality and that your needs are being met. Please complete the evaluation form and return it to us in the envelope provided. If you are pleased with your cleaner, please refer our organization to your friends! Referring the organization (rather than your own cleaner) allows PILAS to offer life-changing opportunities to more women in need. CANCELLATION POLICY: We ask that you give at least 24-hour notice, by calling our office, if you need to cancel the service or change the schedule. This applies to both regular working days as well as holidays, since many customers continue service on holidays. If your cleaner arrives at your home and you are not there to receive her and have not made other arrangements, you will be charged a $20.00 fee.
